What is this all about? To set a world record of having the “Most Naked Climbers on a Single Crag”. We have registered with Alternative World Records and Naked World Records. Why climb Naked? The truth is that no-one will sponsor us to climb fully clothed…so for the sake of a really good cause, we are taking our kit off and raising AT LEAST R100,000 for a local Montagu children’s charity. Who will Benefit? The Rural Women's Assoc of Montagu - to build a classroom and complete the school's toilet block. The money (all of it) will go to these charities as a way for the climbing community to say thanks…. What will the climbers and belayers get? A certificate from the two World Record Assoc as listed above, sun block and a warm tingly feeling once your climb has been completed and the money has been handed over to the kids….. When and where will this happen? The climb will take place in 2009 (Exact Date to be Confirmed) at Legoland, Montagu. There are 22 climbers and 22 belayers…everyone on the Legoland side of the crag will be naked …spectators and judges will be on the other side of the river…no close ups….Justin Lawson from climbZA and Tony Lourens from Bluerock Publishing have agreed to judge for us. We are still trying to get a commitment from the Mayor of Montagu (however his secretary says she’s bringing about 50 of her friends to watch!!!!).
